Installing electrical systems in classic vehicles is becoming a trend as a way to keep these older models on the road.

When it comes down to it, Recharged Heritage steps in by starting to take orders for the electric conversion of the original Mini.

Prices start at €48,400 (£42,500), while if you have a car to convert to electric the price goes up to €71,200 (£62,500) with another car included.

This electric Mini has 97 horsepower and uses a battery pack with a capacity of 10kWh.

This configuration provides an estimated WLTP distance of 166 kilometers, he writes motor1, Telegrafi reports.

The 6,6kW charger can top up the battery in three hours on a 7kW 'box' or nine hours from a standard UK plug.

By comparison, the original Mark 1 Mini used an 850cc four-cylinder engine that produced just 34 horsepower. Whereas when it was launched, the sporty Cooper had a 997cc engine that boosted power to 55bhp.

This electric conversion gives the Mini two driving modes. In Pure mode, the little car reaches 100 kilometers per hour in 11.5 seconds and has a top speed of 126 kph.

In the Sport version, acceleration time drops to 8,5 seconds and top speed rises to 92 mph (148 kph). /Telegraph/
